Tres Ríos is a high-quality wine production company that works with vine grown in different plots in the state of Chihuahua. It was born from a dream by Ing. Javier Cerrillo Chowell, who decided to grow crops with true impact in the country and that at the same time demanded less water, being responsible in water use in this arid area.

Tres Ríos is a project that started taking shape starting in 2010, in the Hacienda San Agustín in some lands irrigated by the San Pedro River. This site was selected mainly due to its climate, hot during the day, and being relatively close to the Sierra, it has cool nights, meeting point of the Chihuahua desert with the clear San Pedro River. This effect, added to the quality of the soil and weather conditions in the region, in addition to the right wine-making process, afforded them the satisfaction of obtaining in their first vintage two international awards: “Gold medal” in “Tierra de Vinos de Ensenada 2015”, both for their 2014 Shiraz and Merlot-Cabernet Sauvignon varieties.

They are very enthusiastic and expect great success due to the silver medal award in the recent competition “México Selection by Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2017”, held in Dolores Hidalgo, Guanajuato.

With beautiful natural celebrations in their three vineyards by the river, are now inviting people to visit the winery and enjoy a reunion with the aromas and flavors of the wines, which will be always remembered in this environment.

People may assist to their guided tasting sessions and traditional Northern menus combined with the three house wines, which pair perfectly. Tres Ríos is a wine that reflects Northern identity.

Located in the grounds of the Hacienda San Geronimo, founded in 1780, and historical site of the Apache war, the Mexican Revolution and the Punitive Expedition, in 1916.  It is a pioneering operation in high lands of Mexico, located at 1,950 meters over the sea level in the Bachiniva Valley, growing Malbec and Carménère varieties; due to their characteristics derived of a very wide thermal amplitude and favorable weather for this variety. San Geronimo transform the grapes in a very special quality wine, lighter in aromas and flavors, that pay homage to their intense crimson red and purple colors.

Encinillas wines are produced in the ruins of the Hacienda de Encinillas, located next to the tercentennial Camino Real – recently declared Heritage Site – a trail of wheels and steps that communicated Mexico City with Santa Fe, New Mexico, and today the remnants that keep Mexicans attentive to their history. The valleys of the Hacienda de Encinillas were witnesses of the raids and clashes of the Apache, Jerónimo and Victorio, of the revolutionary cavalry and its protagonists, who left behind a deep impression. The legend has it that Victorio was a mestizo and that when he was 6 years old, he was kidnapped from the Hacienda by an Apache raid, so he learned their language, he mastered horses and adapted to the rough life of the group. For this and other stories the Encinillas wines are product of imagination, perseverance and talent of the owner of the Hacienda, member of a Spanish family of constructors from Mexico’s 20th century; a world-class wine-making expert and the best strains of the Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Shiraz, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Tempranillo, Malbec and Chardonnay vine varieties, stressed by desert cold, heat and wind of these latitudes where the best vineyards in the world are located. The Encinillas wine labels has come to surprise experts and tasters, locals and foreigners, to delight with its broths and varieties to tell the legacy of the Hacienda and make history again.
